Pavtube DVDAid for Mac is a simple application for converting your DVD into digital formats suitable for use in iTunes, on mobile devices, and for uploading to video hosting websites like YouTube.
First impressions of Pavtube DVDAid for Mac isn’t fantastic because its interface is a bit ugly compared to the standard minimal OSX design. However, if you can get past this aesthetic problem, you’ll find it’s an easy to use and functional, if basic ripper.
Pavtube DVDAid for Mac claims to override copy protection, and it appears to be true. To rip and convert your DVD, simply click the DVD Disc button, and it will be analyzed so you can choose which parts of the DVD you want. Some limitations are apparent here. for example, you’ll find you can’t re-size the app window, meaning you might not be able to see full file names. However, it’s always easy to see the main movie or episode files, as they are easy to identify by length.
You can change the resolution and various other settings before converting, but there are no recommended settings or profiles for specific devices. We found conversion speeds to be more than adequate and the quality was great.
If you’re not looking for advanced features or editing tools, Pavtube DVDAid for Mac is a great little ripping application.
